Submission

The journal accepts the electronic submission of manuscripts in Word format (not in PDF format), whether on diskette or CD, or as attachments to electronic mail. The manuscript should contain the final paper, and include the figures and tables, in proper order (figures are indicated to be separated in Excel also).

Papers are published in English (British spelling) and the authors are fully responsible for the originality of their papers and for the correctness of their subject-matter, language and formal attributes. A language reviewer revises English, but authors are strongly urged to have the papers reviewed linguistically prior to submission.

Manuscripts submitted must be edited, for clarity and conformity purposes according to instruction standards of the journal, and must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere.

The papers can be sent by the "guarantor" (the main author, or the person who takes responsibility for the integrity of the work as a whole, from inception to the published article, and for the publishing of the information) in electronic form, via e-mail, diskette or CD, to the General Editor:

Radu Sestras, e-mail: rsestras@notulaebotanicae.ro

An Author Statement (PDF) should be enclosed by "guarantor" declaring that the paper has not been published anywhere else, permission to reproduce the material, authorship credit, contributors and creditors for the integrity of the work as a whole, to avoid the conflicts of interest and scientist fraud, and respecting the ethical principles of publishing, research and scientific rights. Authorship credit should be based on the following prerequisites: a) substantial contributions to conception and design, or acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data; b) drafting the article or revising it critically for its important intellectual content; c) final approval of the version to be published; authors should meet these conditions. All persons designated as authors should qualify for authorship, and all those who qualify should be listed. Each author should have participated sufficiently in the work to take public responsibility for the appropriate portions of the content.

The authors' statement should be sign and send by mail, fax or e-mail (as scanned sample) to:

In the first instance, the journal editor evaluates papers submitted to the journal, and determines if the manuscript is appropriate for the journal.

The editor, in consultation with the board of editors, will decide if the article will be accepted for publishing, "as it is", "with minor revisions", "with moderate revisions", "with major revisions" or "reject". After editorial scrutiny, if minor or moderate revisions are considered and recommended before publish, the papers are sent for peer review to two independent reviewers, of whom, at least one is an international personality expert in the field (chosen by members of editorial board), which therefore takes the form of a technical advice to the editor. For "major revisions", the editor could return the article to the authors for improvement, or send a manuscript to two specialists (referees) asking them to answer standard questions about the paper and to provide written comments for the authors.

Following review, articles are returned via e-mail to the authors, with expert suggestions and recommendations for improvement, respectively for revision before final acceptance.

The authors should revise the manuscript in accordance with the referee's opinions as soon as possible and send it back to the editing office. If the manuscript with reviewers' comments was sent to them, it should be returned along with revised manuscript. It is necessary to respond to all comments made by reviewers and to state unambiguously how they were accepted (what alterations were made in the text) or if there are any authors' objections to these comments and why they cannot be respected. The authors can disagree with the reviewer's opinion but they should reason their own opinion in a written form.

Editors will consider authors' opinions carefully but they are not obliged to accept their objections. In all cases, the Editor will take the final decision and could make some modifications in text, as edit style, arrangement, and language adaptations before publishing.
